A very sweet whimsey pincushion in the shape of a heart/ arrowhead, handcrafted by an unidentified Iroquois crafter. Top is covered in a deep purple velvet and decorated with colorful glass bead outline, fringe, flower and words “DEAR MOTHER”, dated 1949. Clear sequins are included between letters. This is a later example of the handmade objects Native American crafters made for the tourist trade between the northeast USA/ Canada Border. The back is lined in a faded peach oilcloth. In excellent condition.
