A very special piece of history. This handmade frame, dated 1939, is a beautiful example of the beaded whimsies made by Iroquois crafters at the turn of the 20th century as souvenirs for tourists, passing across the north east U.S.- Canada border. This particular frame includes the original postcard in its pocket, which has an image of the original maker of the frame — Princess White Dove of Caughnawaga, Quebec. The back of postcard includes a handwritten note, from the purchaser to his niece, to whom this frame was gifted: “Emily, White Dove made this frame. Uncle Joe”.
